MAKE A WEEKEND OF IT.

Arrive in Kisoro and pick bib number from Gorilla Highlands Coffee. Please be sure to stop by the Marathon Tours & Travel Booth and get as much information about the tourist sites and offerings within Kisoro, prior to the marathon on 21st November 2026. On these days, enjoy the beauty, nature and scenery and people’s hospitality that Kisoro has to offer.

For those participating in the 109km Cycling Challenge, converge at Mondi Lodge at 5:30pm for briefing. This is a MUST, in order to establish the race requirements, route briefing and Q&A session there after, in preparation of flag off the next morning at 6:00am.

This morning we highly recommend turning up at the starting point of the marathon at 6am. The route map has been provided and is available on this website. 42 Km runners will be flagged off first, followed by the 21Km and 6Km. Good luck and wishing you a fabulous Virunga Marathon 2026

The last runners, cyclists and Mountain Hikers are expected in by 6pm, by which time the Finish Festival will be expected to kick off with performances from leading Ugandan and Rwandan artists.
